Welcome to JVO9 presented by Wittmeier Auto Center!
Come and celebrate our 9th edition at the newly revamped Dill Dinkers in beautiful Chico California!
11 perfect indoor courts, no more court cracks, no more rain delays, no more 30+ mph windy days. Also featuring "championship court" with bleachers for great fan viewing, along with a fully stocked paddle and gear shop on site called "House of Pickle"!
We strive to put on the best player experience possible for the Northern California pickleball community, with 4 days of competition and fun for all ages and skill levels!
We will have free JVO SWEATSHIRTS for all "early bird" entrants, awesome prizes for all winners, Daniel's famous raffle with thousands of $$ in prizes, quality medals, Marin kombucha on tap, singles divisions on Thursday evening, optional 55+ age brackets, 10 ping pong tables, corn hole, a massage booth for players, and a local food truck along with Savor Ice cream will provide healthy lunch and dessert options on site!
New and returning for JVO9:
-Welcome to LADER! A new tournament running platform that we have partnered with. We will now have seamless DUPR result exports, automatic texting for your court assignments on game day, and cheaper registration fees!
-We will again be playing with the Lifetime Pro 48 pickleball, the same ball used on the PPA tour and many other tournaments! It plays a little faster than the Franklins, but it plays true and lasts much longer without cracking. If you want to pick some up locally for practice, they are available on site at the House of Pickle pro shop.
-Since we have 11 courts instead of 16 again, we will run 3 divisions (3.0 Men, 3.0 Women, and 3.5 Men) on Friday evening since it isn't physically possible to fit everyone in for gender doubles on Saturday and still guarantee the amount of games that we do. It will still be a great environment on Friday evening, trust us! *Friday evening players are also allowed to play on Saturday if they would like. (example, a 3.5 Mens team or player could also play in the 4.0 Mens on Saturday if they choose to etc.)
-Along those same lines, divisions on Saturday are now capped at 14 teams, even more reason to sign up early to make sure you get in there!
-We will again be implementing the same successful anti sandbagging measures from past JVOs. Teams cannot enter divisions in which their average team DUPR is .50 higher than the divisions skill level, and will be moved accordingly at the TD's discretion. This will help to ensure quality competition and a more level playing field across all of our divisions. *Any team is welcome to "play up" above their team DUPR average if they choose to.
To check your team DUPR average if you are unsure: Add player A and player B's ratings together, then divide that number by 2, voila.

Registration:
IMPORTANT: When registering, please ensure all emails and phone numbers are accurate. This is how we will communicate you with about news and scheduling, and how we will text you for court assignments.
It is now required for you to link your DUPR account to LADER to play at JVO! Don't worry, it's a breeze. And once you do this once, you will never have to again. This will make it very easy for us to export scores, and you should be able to see the matches on DUPR shortly after the conclusion of the tournament.
*Only early bird entrants will get free custom JVO sweatshirts, sign up early!
*Divisions subject to combining if not enough teams sign up.
*Full refunds will be given until October 10th (minus service fees which are non refundable). It needs to be done by a TD, just send us an email or text and we can handle it for you.
Format:
It will be a round robin tournament, with each team guaranteed at least 4 games to 15, or 5 games to 11. Divisions must have a minimum of 4 teams, with a cap of 14 teams on Saturday.
The top 4 teams (6 in divisions of 12-15 teams, 8 in divisions with 16+ teams) from each division will move on to the "playoffs", with the quarter finals (if applicable) and semi finals being one game to 15 win by 2, (top divisions may be best of 3 to 11, based on TD's discretion and scheduling). Bronze medal matches are always 1 game to 15 win by 2, and gold medal matches are always best of 3 to 11 win by 2. The finalists of each division will get a variety of prizes including gear and gift certificates, and 1st-3rd will get nice medals.
