Before you start

  • The organizer adds you. There's no sign-up for leagues or sessions: the organizer adds every player. If you want to play, contact the organizer and ask them to add you with the email address you use (or will use) for LADER.
  • You need a LADER account to accept an invitation. Anyone can open a league or session page from its link, but you need an account to join, see the event under Your Events and enter your own scores.

Quick steps

  1. In your invitation email, tap Complete Registration, then Join League (or Join Session).
  2. On the day, open your league from Your Events, tap Menu, then Today's Session.
  3. In Matches, tap Player and choose your name to see your matches.
  4. After a match, tap it, enter both sides' scores and tap Save Score.
  5. To see the league ranking, tap Menu, then Ranking.

Step-by-step

1Accept your invitation

When the organizer adds you with your email address, LADER emails you an invitation, for example "New Farm Paddle Social invited you to join their league New Farm Spring League". Tap Complete Registration in the email.

The invitation page opens with You're invited! and the league or session you've been added to. Tap Join League (for a session, Join Session). The league's page opens, with "Invitation accepted successfully". To say no, tap Decline Invitation.

If you're not logged in, tapping Join League shows "You need a LADER account to join your league": tap Sign in to LADER, or Create my LADER account if you don't have one yet.

You can also find your invitations in LADER: on your phone, tap Account, then Notifications; on a computer, click the bell at the top of the page. A badge shows how many are waiting. Each invitation has Complete Registration (to join) and Decline Invitation.

More help: what does joining change?

The organizer created a player profile for you when they added you. Joining links that profile to your LADER account, along with any matches you've already played in the league. Once it's linked, the league and its sessions show under Your Events, and you can enter your own scores where the organizer allows it.

2Find your session

Open your league from Your Events (on your phone, tap Events). The league's page shows its sessions, players, location and contact details.

Tap Menu (bottom left on your phone; on a computer, the menu is always on the left). Under Session:

  • Today's Session opens the session that's on today. On other days, Next Session and Last Session take you to the next or the most recent one.
  • Select a session lists every session in the league.

For a session that isn't part of a league, open it from Your Events or from the link the organizer shared.

3Find your matches

The session opens on its matches. Until the organizer publishes them, you see Matches Not Ready: check back a little later.

Once they're published, each match shows its number, its court and the players on each side. To see only yours, tap Player and choose your name. There's no separate "My Matches" page for sessions. The other filters next to it narrow the list further.

In a Ladder session, each round has its own button (Round 1, Round 2 and so on) at the top.

More help: where are the standings and the session details?
  • Standings (next to Matches) shows how everyone is going in the session. On your phone, it's also in the Menu as Session Standings.
  • Session Details in the Menu shows the date, time and place, who's playing and the organizer's contact details.
  • Session Players lists everyone in the session.

4Enter your score

If the organizer lets players enter scores:

  1. In Matches, tap Player and choose your name.
  2. Tap the match you've just played.
  3. Enter each side's score, then tap Save Score. (Close and OK close the sheet without saving.)

The score shows on the match straight away, and the session standings update.

You can't enter a score when:

  • the organizer has turned off score entry by players;
  • the matches are locked: the organizer can lock them, and in a Ladder a round locks once the organizer starts the next one (the round shows Matches Are Locked; only the organizer can change its scores);
  • your LADER account isn't linked to your player profile yet: accept your invitation first;
  • you aren't one of the players in that match, or one side of the match isn't known yet.

If a score is wrong, ask the organizer to correct it.

5Check the league ranking

Open your league, tap Menu, then Ranking. The League Ranking has a table for each kind of match your league plays:

  • Individual: doubles matches, with rotating partners or fixed pairs. Each player is ranked on their own.
  • Singles: singles matches.
  • Pairs: fixed pairs, ranked as a team.

You only see the tables for the kinds of matches your league has played. Points are listed under each table (for example "Win 2 · Draw 1 · Loss 0"), with the tie-breakers that decide a tie.

Tap your name to see the matches behind your place. Filter them by Partner (not in the Pairs table), Opponent, Sessions or Status, and tap League Ranking to go back to the table. On a computer, your matches open beside the table.

How Rankings Work, under the table, explains which matches count, who is ranked and how the order is decided.

More help: who is ranked, and which matches count?
  • Only league members are ranked. A guest the organizer adds to a single session can play, but isn't ranked.
  • Only matches in the league's sessions count, once their result is in. Matches still to be played and byes don't.
  • In the Pairs table, both players must be league members. Playing with a different partner makes a new pair.
  • The ranking updates by itself as results come in. A score entered during a session shows the next time you open the ranking.

DUPR

If your organizer sends a session's results to DUPR, connect your DUPR account so your matches count: see Connect your DUPR account. The organizer sends the results; you can't send them yourself. A match is only sent once every player in it has connected DUPR. Until then it waits, and it's sent automatically when the last player connects.

What happens next

  • Your league and its sessions show under Your Events, with the league's week (for example "Week 6 of 12").
  • Your results count toward the league ranking as soon as they're in.
  • There's no email when a session's matches are published: check Today's Session on the day.

Troubleshooting

I can't find a way to sign up. There's no sign-up for leagues or sessions. Ask the organizer to add you.

I didn't get an invitation. The organizer may have added you by name only, or with a different email address. Ask them to send you an invitation to the email address you use for LADER.

The session says Matches Not Ready. The organizer hasn't published the matches yet. Check back a little later.

I can't enter my score. See the list in Enter your score. Most often the invitation hasn't been accepted yet, or the organizer has turned off score entry by players.

I'm not in the league ranking. You appear once you've played a match that counts, as a league member. If you only play as a guest in a session, ask the organizer to add you to the league.
